Las Vegas is better known for the Strip, but a short drive puts you on two of the desert's premier fisheries: Lake Mead and Lake Mohave on the Colorado River. Downstream, Lake Mohave offers clearer, cooler water and its own strong striper and bass fishing, and the cold Colorado River below Hoover Dam even holds trout.
